Are you trying to set up an RLCraft server but encountering errors due to your Java installation? If so, this article will walk you through the necessary steps to resolve the issue.

The main reason for this error is that any Minecraft version below 1.16.5 requires Java 8, while newer versions require Java 18. To begin with, make sure you have the correct Java version installed on your PC.

To check which Java version you are running, create a new text document in the server pack folder and type 'Java' into the search list. This will reveal the current Java version on your computer.

If you have multiple Java instances installed, ensure that you only have the right one active. To do this, click on the Windows button at the bottom left side of the screen and select 'Add or remove programs.' From here, click on the 'Download Java' button to access the official Java download page.

Once on the page, select the desired Java version from the top menu and scroll down to the 4-bit installer link. Download and install the setup file into your PC.

After installing Java, you can proceed with setting up Forge for RLCraft. To do this, go back to the server folder you created earlier and drag the downloaded Forge file into the folder.
